Kids’ Cooking – Playing With Your Food

Keep them entertained with kids’ cooking

Kids’ cooking is a great way of keeping your little ones entertained over the long school holidays, especially on rainy days. Frozen food is a great value option, perfect for a growing family. Here are some fun recipe ideas for cooking with children during the summer holidays.

Pizza faces – a classic favourite but one that everyone enjoys. You can buy individual frozen margherita pizza and decorate with your own toppings. Frozen sweet corn works really well for eyes and mouth, as does frozen pepper hair and frozen mushroom ears. This is our version.

Fruit jellies. Another favourite with children, add frozen fruit to your jelly mix and allow to set. These are great with ice cream and make a good holiday treat. Children love getting hands on in the kitchen and they’ll enjoy making sweet treats for the family. To make the ice cream more fun – create an ice cream factory with different toppings for them to add. It might not be pretty – but they’ll love decorating their own dessert.

Turn your kitchen into a smoothie bar this summer and let your little ones make their own tasty drinks. Combine your choice of frozen berries with ice cream or yoghurt. This is a really fun way of getting children to enjoy fruit. Let the kids choose what flavours they would like to mix – they’ll enjoy experimenting with different flavours.
